If the heat is not an issue for you then stick with September but check out when Labour Day is. Thats the traditional last big family holiday and the start of school time. The week after Labour Day is a good time to travel and prices will be lower for flights and hotels in the middle to end of September.

CA is a huge state so weather varies a lot - I know it well living and working then visiting there for several decades . EG July/August are low season in Palm Springs - hardly any tourists and it is by far the cheapest time both in hotel deals and restaurant deals . I love it then as it is quiet, yes hot, but it suits me - I stay on for Labor Day (always the first Monday in Sept) although the prices rise for that 4 day weekend I then move on to LA where it is cooler in Sept and cheaper than say Aug there - if staying at my usual place The Miramar I go early as they close their beach club after first week in Sept as its much cooler when move up to Chateau Marmont for a few days . I have my routine - I didn't do last year but have done for over 20+ and it suits me. Off there again in a few weeks ... NYE in Palm Springs is another tradition but I am staying longer this time as retired

Love this thread!
We are going to Anaheim for 5 nights and Hollywood for 5 nights in November 22. Excited! Has anyone any knowledge of the Clarion Inn? That’s where we have booked. Is it walkable? X |

Thanks
um, I've not heard good things about the Clarion Inn. For me personally its too far from the pedestrian entrance to Disneyland on Harbour Boulevard. Most of the reviews I have seen about it, people either get Uber / Lyft or the walk across the street to Toy Story Parking Lot and get the free bus up to the pedestrian entrance to Disneyland on Harbour Boulevard. Walking I would say its a 30 minute walk, which you might not think too bad, but after a day in the parks , where you will probably average 10 to 12 miles walking, you really wont want to walk back. For walkable hotels you really need to be looking at the part of Harbour Boulvard above Katella Avenue. I have booked Tropicana Hotel for my January trip. I have also stayed at Desert Inn and Suites and Motel 6 Main Gate. Motel 6 is about the furthest I would stay and even there I did not walk to the parks, I used the ART local bus. I only walked to Disneyland on a none park day and it took me 20 minutes from Motel 6 Main Gate. Just to clarify, the area is safe to walk at night when the parks close, there are a lot of families walking from the parks and down Harbour Boulevard to all the hotels, its just the distance and enery it takes after a full day in the parks. |

I have updated the main Disneyland Guide Book Page in the Guidebook section of The Dibb https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/Dis...ps-p-1007.html
The last time it had been updated was 2013 and there have been a lot of changes , new lands and experiences since then. |
