I haven't transited via Schiphol so can't give specific advice on that. The airport itself is great.
But I don't think I'd do an indirect via Europe unless the saving was significant, since you'd still be landing in Florida as an international passenger. Would either do Dublin or a US domestic indirect instead. |

We did it about 5 years ago, it was a very smooth transition from plane to plane, no problems at all. The wait for the return leg to the Uk on the way home is a bit of a killer, but I’d do it again if it was a significant saving, not sure dh would though. Not travelled directly from Schiphol though, we have only done the boomerang flights.

Nice airport as far as Airports goDS lives in the Netherlands so go through there a bit- well when we were allowed! Just a quick note, make sure you have at least 6 months left on your passport as even though the US don't need it, Europe does!

I'm sure you know what you are doing but my two pennyworth at this time is if you possibly can then fly direct.
Otherwise you will have to deal with an extra countries lockdown, rules and regulations, this will just cause extra problems and headaches. |

Not just six months - you've also got to exclude any extra time added on if you applied for the passport early, as the EU don't recognise that any more. For the EU, your passport now expires exactly 10 years after it was issued, so you need to have six months left relative to that date, which might be earlier than the expiry date printed in your passport.

Hi, we have done Norwich, Schiphol, Orlando many times. The airport is huge, and as mentioned sometimes the times between flights don't fit well. We had a five hour wait once.
The bet bit is flying into our local airport, home and a cuppa in forty five minutes. A lot better than a three hour drive. If the flight times were good and the price reasonable I would always go via Schiphol.

Ive done Manchester to Schipol to Boston with Delta, it was all very easy and went smoothly, it wasnt too much longer than direct as it was hour flight to Amsterdam and 6 hours to Boston with a 3 hour layover

We did there in the year of the Ash Cloud (Bristol - Ams - Atl - Orl)
On the way out, it was great, it's a large airy airport with plenty of places to sit down. On the way back we had delays so left with 15 minutes to grab our connection - they were BRILLIANT - the Airport had 4 or 5 trollies to pick us up and drive us to our planes and effectively escorted us off the plane to take us where we were needed. Ok luggage didn't arrive until the next morning but we were on time
