We have a booking for 2nd to 6th dec for 5 adults and one child who is 14. We all have our covid pass but the 14 year old has had no jab. Can anyone advise what happens there?

Hi. Apologies as I’m no expert, but we are going in January with a 14 year old so I assume the same applies to us both. I think my son needs a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of our departure from the Uk (this is a french requirement). The QR code received when the test comes back negative is used to upload to the french covid website. This is then the pass for them to enter places. The adults don’t have to have tests, but do have to show their vaccination status either on the NHS website or the french app. I have downloaded the french app to make sure everyone recognises our status without any hassle. You have to fill in a french form which is a health declaration, I believe each person does their own. Finally, you will need to fill in the Uk passenger locator form within 48 hours prior to returning to the Uk and you will need the codes from your day 2 tests to put on this form. Hopefully by the time you travel, you will only need lateral flow tests and not par tests, but the government still haven’t confirmed when the change will happen. We are actually going to France for half term, so I hope I’ve got all this correct. Also, the 14 year olds need a new antigen test every 72 hours to be able to enter places in France if you are staying longer than 3 days you will need to upload a new QR code to validate the covid pass.

Does anyone know if a 15 year old who recovered from Covid can use this instead of multiple testing?

This is proving impossible to prove apparently, there is nothing we receive in the Uk that is considered a certificate of recovery particularly for teens who don’t have full access to the NHS apps. I’ve seen lots of posts in fb groups where people have done a lot of investigating and no one has found a solution yet. My 13yr old has also recently had covid and would meet this criteria but I have just bought the c19 lateral flow tests to take with us for the extra test she will need while we are there, again a fb group I am in someone has posted to say these were accepted with no problems for their teens health pass this weekend
