I have stayed in MGM 3 times so I recommend it over Luxor.
Definitely agree with other poster who said avoid west wing room and go for grand room

The one I was originally looking at was a west wing room but after googling it I've gone ahead and booked a grand room for not much more.

Thanks everyone

Hope you have fun wherever you stay.
I will be there at the end of November, but I’m used to being there when big conventions are on in March..A busy Vegas is how I like it

I think I've narrowed it down to Luxor or MGM Grand. Has anyone stayed at either and can give me some pros and cons?

For info we're a couple in our late twenties, staying for 6 nights and won't have a car. We will arrive on Thanksgiving Day.

Thanks
We stayed at the Luxor several years ago and it was excellent

I think our convention this time is around a tenth of the size it would normally be so should be a lot quieter anyway.

I prefer MGM to Luxor definitely but would prefer to be further towards mid Strip so if restricting yourself to MGM hotels I’d look at the Mirage , but otherwise Harrahs.

We will never stay at Luxor again. The rooms are run down and smaller than we like.

We stayed in the MGM a couple of times twenty odd years ago when they had there own little theme park it was brilliant.

We saw Rod Stewart, Four Tops and our Neice went to see the Backstreet Boys all in the same week at MGM. Happy Days

Whichever you choose hope you have a great time
