Steve Coogan playing Jimmy Savile
Steve Coogan is playing Jimmy Savile in a new BBC drama and there has been a lot of criticism about a drama being made about the vile Savile (especially by the BBC), and I’m not sure if I will watch it but I guess people have the choice.

Not really my idea of entertainment. We all know what went on. I feel so sorry for those affected, but dont see the point of making it into entertainment. Definetly not for me.

Not for me, I’ve no desire to see something that awful.

Honestly Jimmy Saville always gave me the creeps even as a child and Steve Coogan sets my teeth on edge so,it's a no from me and honestly I think it's too soon for those that were his victims but that's a purely personal view

Jimmy Savile always repelled me when I was a child, I actually felt quite guilty about it as he was always doing good work for charity. Boy do I trust my instincts now!

He was brilliant as Stan Laurel I will admit but I couldn't stand Rowan Atkinson as MR Bean but thought he was brilliant as Magray ( forgive the dyslexic spelling folks )

I won’t watch it because there’s too much doom on tv anyway. I can’t believe I wrote to Jim will fix and I’m glad they turned me down! 😧

Definitely not! Why do the bbc feel the need to do a series about such a vile creature, his poor victims must be dreading this.

I saw Jimmy various times as a kid. Not too close luckily. Always remember when we passed him in the car when he was out jogging and he smiled and he was waving at me and my brother (shudder!)
I was just saying today how when he first died he was thought of as a hero charity raiser with his coffin on display at a Leeds hotel- thousands filed past to pay their respects. Quickly the truth came out though, although anyone who knew him had an idea, or if you’d watched the Louis Theroux on him. He was a very intimidating man apparently.
