Dash Cam As Christmas Present?
I am thinking of buying my son a dash cam as a surprise Christmas present - my husband recently got one and loves it, but I am trying to decide if it is something he would want. If you are a driver would you be happy to get one for Christmas? If so would it need to have front and back view or just front?

We got our DS one for Christmas three years ago - it was what he wanted. We then paid for our local garage to fit it.😀

OP. I have had a front one for at least the last 8 or 9 years. Wouldn't be without it.
However even though the front is the most important a rear one is nearly as essential. Of course if you get rear shunted the front camera will indicate that as the car lurches forward. My Mate is an Auto Electrician and charges me £50 to hard wire in a front dash cam and when I change cars that price is the same to pop in for 5 minutes to take it out of the car that's going and come back when the new car is here. Funnily enough I am getting a new car on Tuesday and am buying front and rear cams as the current one is getting dated. I have tasked my Son to find me decent ones as he is more tech minded than me. I think your Son will be well pleased if you get him one, I would.

Plus it may lower his insurance premiums so that could be an added bonus
