News seems more positive

I've read lots of reports about the new variant and whilst I appreciate it's early days. Let's focus on positive

However, the WHO and Coronavirus experts are increasingly convinced the new Omicron variant is ‘super mild’.

Most patients merely experience a severe headache, nausea, dizziness and a high pulse rate, according to hospitals and medics across Southern Africa.

This variant will be bad news for the unvaccinated as reinfection seems high but for the vaccinated and countries with high vaccination rates it shouldn’t be to much of a problem 🤞🏻

severe headache, nausea, dizziness and a high pulse rate

I jokingly threw a cake at my wife...
She was absolutely furious. I've never seen a person get this angry before. I guess it holds true to the old saying:

Hell hath no fury like a woman sconed.

Just been reading an interesting article in Reuters where a paper has concluded that probably in an immune compromised variant factory person, it’s fused the genetic material with some of the common cold which was also infecting a cell. This could be why symptoms are ‘mild’.
Then again hospitalisations are going up. But it’s not clear why and, for example, I read even with mild symptoms people often present at hospital for treatment in SA and they get tested and it doesn’t actually mean they are admitted to a bed so that’s maybe why. No idea if correct though.
Hopefully it will end up mild and almost a new common cold but that’s me being v optimistic.
