MCO to Universal - route and tolls

I could probably drive from MCO to WDW in my sleep (and sometimes feel I have after a delayed flight!) but with our rescheduled holiday we start at HRH and I realised that I have never gone straight from MCO to Universal before.

Do people use the 528 and then I4 route or is there a better option? If that is the best route, how much are the tolls (awaits response from Mick here)?

I can't use the visitorpass as we will be flying into MCO but back from Tampa unless they are providing a different option for returning your pass.

Thanks

Take the 528 toll is around $2/25 you can pay cash
Take exit 2 it’s about 9mikes into now it’s orange something boulevard then turn right into universal boulevard probably about 15 mins depending on time of day
Lightbulb moment it’s Orangewood Boulevard

Mick is here lurking in the "driving" forum as usual.

We're also on autopilot from side B on to the 417 south but I guess that most Dibbers heading for the Universal area would leave MCO going north to 528 then I-4.

Mr Morrow uses that route regularly and I think he says there's one toll on 528 at around $2.75?

Other regular Dibbers have used the VTP and flown home from another airport and simply mailed the tag back.

Mick

PS Helen beat me to it

This will not be helpful at all, sorry OP, but if you want to be confused watch this:

I am doing the same driving from MCO to Universal... I watched this, and also asked same qs on here... Thank you mick as always for your responses.

Anyhow, even I could tell that the drive in the video was doing things wrong!
