Choosing between AMI & Treasure Island Area Help

Hi Everyone
We went to AMI in 2013 for a few nights and it was beautiful. We are hoping to go back to Florida in Sept this year and spend 5 nights on the coast. I was looking at Apts near St Johns Pass but nothing is comparing to AMI. I was thinking we could base ourself on AMI and then just go out for the day to St Johns Pass etc. We want to go on a Dolphin Spotting Trip in Clearwater. Do you think this is possible or are we too far away?

Not at all, it will take you about 1 hour from AMI to Clearwater, I think there are Dolphin trips at Sarasota which is nearer. South from AMI down the gulf coast is much better in my opinion than going North, some lovely areas, Sarasota, Siesta Key, Venice to name a few.

We stayed at Treasure Island years before we found Anna Maria Island. In my opinion, AMI wins hands down.
There are dolphin trips from Anna Maria too. Plus you can usually see them every day from the beach or from the piers.

Enjoy wherever you decide to stay on the gulf
