We went back in May and absolutely loved it! (This was our second trip there and I have to say I enjoyed it even more this time around!)
We went on a Thursday (our first day in Orlando) and it was perfectly quiet. I am thinking the Atlantis exhibit will be new since your last visit, this is not to be missed, just breath-taking! I have covered our day there in my trip report if you wanted to check it out (link is in my signature!) Edited at 10:44 AM. |

Get to KSC as early as you can and take the first tour bus to the Saturn V Assembly Building. That way you'll have the place all to yourself for the first ~30 minutes. Get the bus tour portion out of the way early, and you are free to roam the rest of KSC all day after.
In terms of what's new - the grandest new addition is the Atlantis shuttle. I won't ruin it for you...but make sure you definitely visit Atlantis and pay very close attention to the pre-show movie. It is breathtaking. |

We went there two weeks ago on a Wednesday from the gulf coast and arrived about 10.30 - 11pm. It was virtually empty and we managed to park quite near the entrance (10 minute walk). There was a queue for the bus tour, but it was only about 15 minutes. Towards the end of the day it emptied out even more, we walked on to the Shuttle ride twice and managed to fit everything in no problem.
