Paris bus tour
Hi everyone we go to DLP next week and are doing 1 day in Paris we have already booked tickets for the Effiel tower
Just wondering whether doing the open top bus tour would be worth doing and if so should we pre book tickets now or wait till we get there. Or do we just walk round to see the sights. What do you recommend. Thanks in advance. |

If you don't know Paris well or haven't visited before then I would recommend the Big Bus tour. They cover most of the main tourist attractions and you'll get chance to take photos:
bigbustours/en/paris...and-tour-maps/ Another way to see Paris is book one of the Bateau Mouche which sail along the Seine. They usually have a good commentary about what you can see. cometoparis/catalog/b...FRUz0woda6gDCg In the evening some of them offer dinner cruises. |

We went for a day while we were camping after doing DLP last year. We just used the metro and walked around, which was good because we could do things at our own pace and go to the places we were interested in. We were all exhausted by the end of the day (we arrived at about 9-10am and finally got back to the car about midnight) and my 5 year old fell asleep on the metro after going back to see the Eiffel Tower lit up at night. We were glad to just spend the next day relaxing on the campsite.
I'd been to Paris before (on a school holiday, so a long time ago!) but even so, I still felt like doing the Big Bus tour would have been a better way to get a bit of guidance with seeing the main sights, and not having to do so much walking - even using the metro, we seemed to walk miles under Paris, changing lines and finding the right platforms. My sister took her family on the Bateau Mouche and said she'd recommend that to day visitors. My husband still says he preferred the way we did things our own way, but I'd recommend the Big Bus or a Bateau Mouche if you're planning to have any energy left the next day! Edited at 04:48 PM. |
