First Timers: Advice on our location: Relais Spa Val d'Europe, Chessy & some Park questions

Hi everyone

After 10 years of DW and DL Anaheim, we are taking the plunge to Paris in March. We've booked at the Relais Spa Val d'Europe, Chessy which looked a good hotel for us.

Anyone got advice on the area - how safe is it? Are there plenty of casual dining areas to eat?

Also, in the park, can/do i need to book fast passes on the rides and do i need to book restaurants?

Thanks

We've stayed at Relais Spa lots and always had a good experience. Make sure you use the free transfer to the parks!
Area always seems safe to me and there are a few places to eat outside near the station, but loads inside in the shopping centre. Last time we went we were impressed by some of the new options, less food court like and more healthy options!
Fast passes are the old paper style so you can't book them. Booking meals is recommended for busy times but doesn't need to be 180 days out like wdw.

You won't get EMH so I would get to the parks in plenty of time and use Fastpass.
I haven't stayed at that hotel but the shuttles from that area can get very busy.

I've stayed at the hotel a couple of times and thought it was great both times. Any time you want to go to or from the parks you speak to the concierge and they take you in the hotel minibus - it's an excellent service!

We ate at a couple of places round the corner from the hotel. There's an Italian place which was very good value and we had excellent food. There's a burger place too which we didn't try because it was too busy. We also had a really fab meal in Le George which is part of a hotel just outside the shopping centre.

For breakfast we went to the bakery round the corner for pastries and coffee which was much cheaper than in the parks. We also picked up a few bits and pieces from the supermarket inside the shopping centre as we had a kitchen in our room and it was an easy way to save some money.

We think it's a great location and you won't struggle for food options.

Fastpass system at DLP is the legacy one. i.e. you tick park ticket in machine by ride and get a paper Fastpass by return. They don't use Magic Bands either.

If you wish to book any restaurants call at two months before your trip :

00 33 1 60 30 40 59

You can't book online.

You can also make restaurant bookings on 0800 085 0671 which is a freephone number. That's the number on the Walt Disney Travel Company website and it's the one I use.

Depending on how long you are going for, it may be worth looking an APs. At current prices I think you break even at 3 or 4 days, plus you will get Magic Hours.

There are rumours of restructuring the APs though, with major price increases.
