We flew with BA last August. Flight from LHR-MIA was on an Airbus - we were very impressed. We bagged the very last row on the upper deck, pushed back our fully reclining seats and enjoyed the IFE plus the upgraded meal as they had run out of economy meals. I couldn't fault anything - great new plane and friendly staff.
I agree with Geoff - a means to an end!

We flew with BA last week. The cost saving cuts are definitely starting to become noticeable. There was no snack with the initial drinks service, no tuckbox any more and only two items in the breakfast box instead of the three we got last year. Couldn't fault the cabin crew though and as long as they remain cheaper than Virgin we will continue to fly with them for now.
Their new planes - 787 and A380 - are fabulous. Not surprisingly they use these on the routes which generate the most revenue, rather than those which are more akin to a charter route on which they are likely to get trashed on an almost daily basis. BA also have a far bigger fleet, so on the odd occasion something does go wrong they have far more aircraft they can shuffle around to sort it out.

For the last 4 years BA have been considerably cheaper than VA, enough for me to take my own chocolate and peanuts on board and not worry about them not handing out sny snacks.

To be fair in almost 19 years of Orlando holidays and previously working at Gstwick, BA and Gatwick are very similar except Virgin are not as reliable at leaving on time.

I don't mind who I fly with, it's all about cost. As long as I get from A to B it really doesn't matter.
