Kennedy Space Centre tips

Hi all, Just wondering if you have any tips for KSC?

Visiting with 3 kids (8,11,13) and wondering what is the best way to approach the day.

Bus tour first, (straight through the building, bear right in the courtyard) you will end up at the Saturn Center in time for lunch (fairly decent cafe), then back to the main area for the afternoon.

if not doing lunch with an astronaut, the same astronaut will be signing pics/books doing photos etc later on in the gift shop, so you can have a quick chat/pic for free

We've done it the other way round a couple of times and found it quieter as loads of people seemed to be heading to the tour first.

Did the Atlantis building first, stopped for a coffee, then got the bus over to the Saturn V building, had lunch there and a look round, then back to the main complex.

Although at Christmas (My 5th visit and OH's third) we did it slightly differently as we also did a behind the scenes tour. That was amazing!

If you want to watch the Imax check the times as they show two different films at alternating times.

Another one for doing the bus tour first and there is a pleasant outdoor seating area out the back of the saturn cafe (to the left of where you pay) for a bit of chilling!

The car park is really quite close to the entrance and there are picnic benches. We took packed lunch in cool box with frozen waters. The food options didn't look particularly good in KSC so we were glad we had taken lunch with us. Have a good time, we didn't expect to enjoy KSC as much as we did.

We visited yesterday thanks to the advise received. It will take just over an hour to get there from where you are, it will take at least 6/7 hours to see everything so you may be tight going to the beach as well, all depends on your levels of stamina.
