I noticed a few DIBBers had booked the 12th from Manchester, we just all seem to have booked different return dates, mine looked the shortest as we only have 14 nights!
We fly man-Phl-mco on the 12th see you onboard

Also got flights MAN - PHL- MCO return for £294 per person. So happy now as flights searches had completely taken over my life. Just last night I was doing a final search, thinking that I was just going to stop until Christmas, when these flights popped up. To OP who asked about notifications of flash sales - I have just checked my email and seen that Skyscanner actually sent me an alert yesterday afternoon, so worth setting up alerts, and doing so for multiple airports, as I had only been checking Birminghamas Manchester was coming in a lot more expensive.
Good luck to all of those still looking, hoperhaps you find great prices ☺

For those that just booked the AA deal did you notice once it was ticketed that the price was £75 higher (i did 2 bookings and happened on both of them) but it only took the lower amount from the bank account, did anyone else notice this, I wonder when they will take the other amount.

We never noticed this on our booking.

Hi I think this is to do with the child tax. Have you a teenage child? Mine also went up £75 but one tickets it was £75 less. As paid by cc cannot check what has come out yet.

Just a quick update that I paid and confirmed my AA flights booking held from last night. 13th - 25th Aug 2 adult, 1 teen, 1 child Heathrow-Miami-MCO (first flight is BA) and same route back with all AA flights. £1274 total so £318.50 each. Over the moon with that as I was giving up on being able to afford to go. Thanks so much to whoever posted the tip, and good luck to those still looking - this goes to show it can be done if you keep looking and get in quick, and the 24 hour hold thing is fab for those who can't book on the spot but have to check dates etc. When I tell the kids next year I'll have to say "don't thank me - thank the DIBB" as we'd never be going back without all the DIY tips on here.

Yes on both bookings there was one 12 year old on one and one 14 year old on the other so hopefully the amount that was taken from the bank was correct then.

Thank you

Chris

what sites are people using to find these bargains? This is our first time going in the school holidays and are hoping to catch one of these bargain prices.

We found it frustrating recently that the bargain flights BA had in the sale were from Manchester. Our dates had not come until after the sale. When we looked for the fares when the sale ended they were extortionate. So pleased we had an opportunity to nab these cheap fares especially direct to Tampa and direct from Mco to gatwick.

I booked after the sale but still managed to get ~£400 pp flights from LHR (booked with hotel at the same time via BA site flying with AA).
