Contact BIBA (British insurance brokers association) they will be able to tell you who will cover your pre existing. Staysure are pretty good and are willing to consider circumstances that are slightly different

I don’t think anyone wants to pay exorbitant prices or be inadequately covered !

We have always used lloyds in my annual policy but a couple of years ago I realised that it did not cover conditions that had come to light since I first took the policy (20 years ago) my stupidity. Adding the PEMC added £380 to the policy (bad back, DD hole in ear drum, me heart investigations and silent reflux) to get a policy for. The post office with everything declared was £160.

If you have a PEMC you will pay more and depending what they are you will pay a lot more it’s about the risk and it is far more important (IMHO) to have the correct cover than a tiny premium if you think you have both check very carefully.

I would like to thank everyone for their replies, (just to clarify I am not looking for tiny premiums) once again DIBB has answers to my query, I have enough companies to contact to begin my search for adequate insurance for our trip.

We have used Aviva the last four or five Florida trips. They don't particularly market themselves as PEMC insurers but they do offer it and we've found their quotes to be the most reasonable for DH's conditions (he has quite a few including type 1 diabetes). He rang them last week to add on another fairly minor condition that has arisen since we took out the policy. They added it on at no extra cost.
Fortunately we have never had to claim so can't comment on that aspect of it

Another company to add to my list, looks like I will be busy for the next few days! Thanks again.

I'm a medical liability, 😁

Used rbs, post office and virgin recently.
The real test in if you have to claim unfortunately.
The only time I have had to is with rbs. They got me home from The Bahamas after emergency treatment with no problems at all. All handled brilliantly.

I will be using rbs again for our next usa trip.

Martin Lewis recommends staysure or allclear. For our upcoming euro disney trip we used these for my mother in law who has a number of pre existing conditions.

They were both significantly cheaper than anything on market comparison sites.

Martin Lewis gets paid to recommend products not saying their not the best just saying he is biased, hence the dreadful UK Cash pre paid cc he recommend

We used Columbus insurance.

We wanted an annual policy to cover PEMCs, no excess and also cruise cover. By going through Top cash back we paid £150.

I used to work for an insurance company so have read all of the policy documents and am very happy with their cover.
