Sue. The Miles boost is based solely on the flight distance. Not the cabin you are in
So my Son who did NY in May will get less Miles than me who did it for Orlando.

How easy is it to use these miles when booking flights? As I had a quick look last night and nothing was direct, and it was going to mean adding £269 which I assume is taxes does that sound about right?

I'm no expert but I think you get the best value the more expensive the flights are. More miles are required in peak season than low but the taxes are more or less the same.
Miles and money, there are more of these than just the reward seats but there are plenty of threads about availability. I tend to use mine to upgrade from economy to PE

The two are completely unrelated.
You need to buy groceries (and, probably petrol) anyway so if Tesco is a convenient choice for you, then convert Clubcard points to miles. Tom's calculation is way off, not least of all because you're buying groceries anyway - your family need to eat etc. As such, the Clubcard points haven't cost you anything really. We convert all our Clubcard points to miles, but tend to wait until there is a boost on the conversion rate on, which seems to happen once or twice a year. |

We've flown extensively PE and Upper to New York, Orlando and Miami using miles, and nearly always on trips that are contained entirely within the school summer holidays.
Sometimes we've booked early - when the flights are released - but at other times we've booked only a few weeks in advance when we spied availability. For the last few summers there was quite widespread PE availability close to summer departure dates. We collect miles through two sources: - Virgin Atlantic credit card (the black £160/year one) - Tesco Clubcard point conversion ...so we don't do or buy anything differently than we ordinarily would, and we amass hundreds of thousands of miles pretty quickly. |

Anyone know why I have to wait for my bonus miles to be added on when the offer expires?
