Looking for a £2,000 car - advice please!
Hi guys
Hope everyone is keeping well. I've been driving a 2005 Ford Ka since 2013 and although it has done less than 70k miles, I'm looking at replacing it. I've always driven Fords - had an Escort before - so a couple of people have suggested a Fiesta but I'm also interested in hearing suggestions about other makes and models. The car is likely to just be used for local trips, maximum annual mileage probably 5k. I would prefer a 5 door car, petrol and nothing large! Budget is around £2,000, maybe a little more if the right car came along. I'd be very interested in hearing some suggestions. Thank you. Kev |

Peugeot 107 , Citroen c1, or toyota Aygo? All three pretty reliable. Actually all three are fairly identical and based on the Toyota.

So, I drive a 61plate focus - very nice car, fiestas of a similar ages are nice cars, but they are keeping their value fairly well at the moment - they are weirdly expensive last time I looked.

I currently drive a Ford Fiesta which I love but it was nearly new and way more expensive than £2k
Before that, I had a 1litre Corsa which cost me £3.5k and was about 4 years old when I bought it. It was not a great car. I suppose it depends where you live but where I live, it really struggled as we have some very steep hills. I would not recommend a corsa based on my experience. |

We’re on our second Citroen C3 which is my husbands work car in the main. Both have been great - only changed the first one because a foreign lorry driver decided to swap lanes writing it off They’ve been reliable, economical and unbelievable during icy/snowy weather (both auto so not sure if that makes a difference) Hope I’m not jinxing it now!
