BA Vouchers!

So after a lot of hours on the phone to BA we have managed to change our October flights to December. To go direct was insanely more literally 2-3K more for 3 people which is nuts so we have gone for in-direct which I don't mind if it gets us there then I'll do it no problem!
My issue is these vouchers! Our original booking was £2700.
Our new booking is £2150. What can we actually use these vouchers on except future flights? Am I right in assuming not even car hire is allowed? Feels a bit unfair!

The flights were cancelled, they should’ve moved you to the direct flights for no charge.

Did you ask the agent to change you to the direct flights or did you try to change before the flights were cancelled. I am just trying to work out why BA were asking for 2 or 3k extra.

We changed before they were cancelled.
The agent said there were no plans for any cancellations to the flight which is 25/10

Never believe the agents. They find out when we do. They have no advance notice. When November was announced, they were always going to pull October for the Orlando flights, just had to wait. Before that they were cancelling a weeks worth 3/4/5 weeks out. It was pretty consistent.

Generally you have to treat the agents like they have no clue. they always have less of a clue than most of us.

I'm happy to have got flight for December as I appreciate the price will have jumped up following announcement. It's the vouchers is my biggest concern I find them unfair they can only be used for future flights
