Do you have to print them off now? - Not had one for a while. Before, you just got an email notification

The official ESTA web site recommends that you print them out (or take a screen shot).

Since they were made compulsory in Jan 2009 I've read on here a few dozen Dibbers being asked for a print out at UK check in. Totally unnecessary of course but who wants a row at check-in for the sake of a sheet of paper?

Just did mine tonight. I had an email back after about an hour to say there is an update on your ESTA application. So I logged on and checked the status and both my wife’s and I had been approved. I must admit, in the past they have been approved virtually instantly. So I was sweating a little 🤪

Thanks Mick. I always just had the email incase but will take a paper copy next time as well.

There were changes made to the Esta site for approvals a while before the pandemic, they seem to do the authorisations in batches rather than application submission.

Usually us about an hour depending on the time of day, seems to be quicker during US office hours but can be slower later in the evening/early mornings

Part of ours will take a week!
I made a typo on the D.o.B of DD on a group application, so need to wait on it timing out after 7 days to start over.
Trying a new one just now, just tells me there is another open application.
