Can anyone explain/confirm the credit when you cancel mousekeeping

I have read in a couple of trip reports now that people cancelled their mousekeeping and received a $10 per night credit - is this true?

They said that if you run out of something you can just ask the front desk and they will replenish.

How do you get the credit as we booked through a travel agent.

You get it when you check in so it doesn’t matter who you’re booked through. If it isn’t offered, ask and they may be able to do it. You are given $10 per night minus your first night (so for example $130 for a 14 night stay) and you can use the phone in your room to ask housekeeping for more towels/toilet paper etc.
The credit is emailed to you and when you want to use it they’ll scan the code on your phone.

If you want your room cleaned you can pay for it (even after declining mousekeeping) otherwise just ask for toiletries and towels as needed (no charge).

We still had someone pop in daily to see if all ok and empty the bins, and they sorted out any extras we wanted at no charge.

What if you don't have a phone? Should have by then but unsure.

Can you take the phone and get a Disney gift card using the credit on the phone to pay.

You use your room phone to call.

I think they were referring to using the email that has the credit on rather than ringing room services

You don't need a phone specifically, just something to access your email. If you don't take any devices with you, I'm sure reception would be able to help you. I've read reports that they can issue a physical gift card if necessary.

They gave it to you on a gift card when they first started letting you opt out so I’m sure they would do that if you didn’t have a phone.
