I am a quality street thief

The following is a true story, and although some might find it amusing I'm sure others will not, but I want to get it off my chest and assure you this would never happen again.

I am a chocoholic and quite a few years ago we would buy lots of tins of quality street for the staff for Christmas. We would usually buy them several weeks before Christmas, and when I was in the office alone I would open the tins of quality street and eat some of the good ones, then very carefully/skilfully reseal the tins. Staff would often complain how few sweets were in their tins of quality street and/or how their tin had all the rubbish sweets inside.

I am not proud of what I did, but I am actually an honest person and have done many good deeds that others wouldn't do (now I'm really trying hard to excuse my crime).

I am willing to be told off as I deserve it, but perhaps in some ways I was helping the staff not to eat too much rubbish over Christmas by me eating many of the sweets for them

I never part ate any of the sweets, and they were always guaranteed lots of coffee and strawberry sweets in the tins and anything else I didn't like.

You sound like my dad, he used to carefully open my boxed easter eggs and eat the back half of the egg and the contents before carefully re-wrapping them to make them look new.
