OP well done for adopting - our last few have come through that route too
Thank you xx

Make sure it’s not to old before you buy all the equipment as they don’t have a long life span

Try looking for Megazorb for the bottom of the cage, and digging.
It’s great stuff, and a large sack is about £8, so very economical as well.
My daughters is a selective feeder, so just has the nuggets. She cleaned his poop every day, and a full clean every week. The megazorb absorbs smells.
Good luck to her, I’m sure she will love being a hammie owner.

My kids all had hamsters, one of them was called Tinkerbell, she used to get out of her cage at night, climb the stairs and wake my eldest daughter up! 🤣

Have fun. 🥰

Thank you so much. We actually use megazorb for our rabbits litter tray so that's a brilliant tip

I love hamsters. Now I have cats I can't keep one but when I used to have them they were such fun. Mine had free run of the living room while he was awake. They sleep all day and wake up about 7pm and they learn tricks and are very intelligent. Sad that they only live two years.

Oh goodness, don't mistake what I said as suggesting guinea pigs are no fun. Ours have SO much personality and constantly wheek at us for attention and strokes. I just said they aren't great kids pets as they don't like being cuddled
