Made a bit of a cock up. I read "within 72 hours" and have only just filled my ESTA's in and we fly tomorrow at 12ish.

How long did everyones take ?

Feel sick...

Usually immediate. I've had them take an hour or so before and I once had one take 24 hours because I made a mistake on it.

In future you should do your ESTA a minimum of 6 months out in case anything flags up.

edit: That's out of about 20 trips so probably about 10 ESTAs - the vast majority were within a couple of minutes.

Don't wait for the email - go back on the site and check the status, fingers crossed you're pleasantly surprised.

I just read the within 72 hours, I literally come back from the Maldives a week ago and that had to be done just before you travel so had that in my head.

Fingers crossed we get some authorisation tonight.

Every report for the last few months has been within an hour or so. I did 4 for friends last week and it was about 90 mins.

Just keep checking and refreshing, I think mine took about 6 hours the first time and then I redid them as I was silly and missed off my middle names , then second ones came back within the hour. I think it can take longer but its automated so fingers crossed it does as sadly you can't Flt without one.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone report an immediate approval for some time. Mine took about 2-3 hours.
