I’d actually feel safer as a lone female in an Uber or Lyft as the journeys are tracked in real time and you can share that tracking with anyone in the world too which isn’t the case with taxis or transfers.

You can switch on "find my friends" on a an iPhone and track which my pattern and I do all the time anyway (and use airtags) - I am very safety conscious hence why I would never use an unknown not collect me form an airport and form LAX always us same company with same driver - other shuttles/ubers etc an offer me that peace of mind and after a long flight we needs our whits about us (LAX area is a scary place)

I think with language barrier I like the thought of a shuttle, a lot of Uber drivers speak Spanish and find it hard to understand my strong Scouse accent. I have Google tracking with my friend so she will be able to track me. I’m happy to pay the shuttle fee and at 3.30am in morning going to the airport don’t fancy a Uber or lyft.

We also paid by card on the day a couple of weeks ago on our trip from Anaheim to LAX.

I wonder whether the unsocial hour for pick up has triggered a payment up front. They wouldn't want to send out someone for 3am without a definite customer to pick up.
