Reporting in (Travel day)
We flew in from Manchester to Tampa via Atlanta with Virgin/Delta. Long day, left home at 5.30am, airport busy but fairly quick, check in about an hour and security about a half hour. We are a big group of 10, 2 families with 2 kids each and us the grand parents. Kids are 11, 7,7and almost 3.
Got to Atlanta on time, awful cramped plane, had more leg space on Ryan air. Food was adequate and lots of drinks. I hade the chicken and bacon with mash, okay, Salted chocolate was amazing (I normally don’t like chocolate desserts) the afternoon tea was small but yummy, 2 tiny sandwiches (a cheese ploughman’s and a Philly type, a cake with lemon and elderflower ( nice) and a scone with jam and cream. In Atlanta the immigration queue was quick and a really nice officer who made the experience lovely. No issues with customs.my brand new case, the wheel had come offso not good.Dropped off no issues. Had to do the security thing again so all liquids and tech out. Jumped on the train to get from F terminal to B.Holding tight as very fast and twisty. Got some meals in the food court so burgers and grilled chicken etc.More coffee, Burgers was $10 plus $5 for fries(shared 1) Coffee was $10. We had landed at 2 30 next flight supposed to be 5.40, a storm rolled so we were delayed until 7.Landed in Tampa at 9pm so 2am to us. Ladies and kids sorted luggage whilst the 3 men caught another train to car rental. Picked up our 15 seater( wanted a 12 but always £600 dearer so had to put cases on to seats.) We piled the kids and luggage in, and had an easy drive to villa at Sandy ridge near Champions gate. ( rented from A Dibber Mickeys Disney Villa).Very nice 5 bed villa, with a lovely heated pool. Unpacked car, transported sleeping kids to bed, had a drink and be about midnight. So our travel day was about 24 hours, with a few catnaps on the flight. We thought the flight would be ok, but the storm in Atlanta made thing so late, next time direct. |
