Mother on the St Ola I would say early 1950’s as Father took the photo when they took their car over to Orkney. (Sh wasnt a fan of the ferry &#129314

Gull knows the ferries but yes you can as my sister has one and wants to take it (and there are so many people using them on Sanday and Main Land (Orkney) - seem popular choice

Yes ! We have 2 sites for motor homes and some people wild camp too.

The peedie plane doesn't go if its foggy.

For islanders, it's just like catching a bus. Some of our teachers use it to come over from town and some kids weekly if they"ve county sports practice. I started the post as I thought it would be interesting to show how we travel to town. Bit different from the bus or tube 😀

Certainly beats sitting on the M4 eating diesel fumes and watching your fuel diminish as you move at 5mph!

Its fun ride - landing in a field, no stacking or air traffic control towers, just unload then load up again and off you go ! Not even boarding cards - it really is like catching a bus. Air travel in the raw with views to die for form every angle
