I’ve been watching the wait times on the app and it’s been at 90 minutes quite often around 4, 7 and before closing. We have early entry but won’t queue for an hour to get it we will probably do forbidden journey and velocicoaster and hagrids later on the day, it does have delays first thing in the morning quite often too which puts me off a bit

I like going for early strategy. I'm up early. My wife and daughters are still in bed. I'm currently first in line at the security gate by Margaritaville. Should be at the front of the turnstiles for opening. Hoping to ride Velocicoaster a couple of times before they even get up. Perfect use of time for me

We did early entry this morning, but not as early as some people! We entered the queue for Hagrids at 8.06, and the wait time went from 90 to 120 minutes as we entered. It took 90 minutes to get on the ride. What we found was the queue time went quickly, and didn’t feel like 90 minutes.

We did Hagrids this morning. We are staying at RP and left the hotel at 7.20am, joined the queue to get in at 7.30am. They let us in at 7.45am, opened the ride at 8am and we were off the ride by 8.30am. Then we had time to ride Forbidden Journey before 9am then we took the Hogwarts Express over to US and rode Gringotts. I loved the Hagrid ride, I found velocicoaster way too intense!

We are staying at RPR currently, got to IOA for 7.30 am, the parks were open at 7.45am and we were at then end of Hagrid’s queue at 7.55am and we were off the ride at 8.40am. It is definitely worth getting there early, by the time we got off the ride they were posting a 3 hr wait!

To get on it without being in a 2 to 2 hour queue we were at the gate for latest 7:30 but earlier if you can.
They open the gates at 7:45 and if like us you always pick the worst flowing queue possible with multiple issue with scanning people in or people pushing in you will have a great time as you watch streams of people fly to hagrids while you are still at the gate. We did this as a ritual almost every morning we would ride hagrids then off to Velocicoaster. Big issue was second week as they changed from both parks having early entry and being open later. When only islands was early obviously everyone is going to the same park for the same few rides which is the Harry potter area and Velocicoaster. As someone else mentioned one day hagrids went down, then Velocicoaster and Harry potter, people started getting angry and they seemed to make a decision to open the rest of the park. Hagrids is great and a must do and you need to have a go on the bike it's a completely different ride. |

We did Hagrids at rope drop and it was the longest wait of all we tried.
We found it less than 1hr in the afternoon /early evening (even when advertised at 2hrs) and less after a thunderstorm. You can gauge pretty well how long it’ll actually be by where the queue is outside (if you are at the little Hargrid hut outside on the left it will be sub 1hr from our experience this last 2 weeks). Also, never believe the advertised times for Hagrids or Velocicoaster, pretty sure they only bump these up to push people elsewhere in the parks, we always got on before the posted times.
