It's normally the winter alternating schedule when they close one or the other. I think blizzard beach closed to give it the deep clean TL got during covid. The timing is ridiculous though, they could possibly have waited a few months, then again it depends on some of the issues.

It was packed in July also, along with a couple of rides out of action we ended up leaving early. Also not pictures being taken for the memory maker/photo pass.
Comes across as blatant cost cutting to me and seeing just how much they can get away with.
Also the shower area was disgusting 🤢
They keep blaming labour shortages, doesn’t seem to have affected Universal as much, perhaps BC should try paying better wages!

Blizzard Beach is closed until next year as they are replacing worn out slides. Massive amount of construction going on at moment. Pictures are on Twitter.

Exactly, there is a huge crane in the middle of it at the moment.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and it was so busy, it put us off having a second visit.

Agree. We had a bundle of one day water park tickets and planned to go three or four times.

First time we went (Sat 23rd) by the time we got there (around 1pm) the car park was full and they were directing you to park at Disney Springs and get the bus over. Not a huge deal, but bit of a bummer.

When we got to the park it was heaving. Long wait times for most things and super busy lazy river. Then thunderstorm around 3.30pm - everyone cleared out - we had to wait in long queue for bus back to DS 😤

Put us off going back - plus we drive past the following Sat going to DS and the traffic trying to get into Typhoon was ridiculous.

Long story short, we brought all but 3 of the water park tickets back with us and will use them next year (they are good till end 2023).

We did Volcano Bay on Friday. Arrived at 2pm and it was ok - not too busy. After 5pm the park was fairly quiet (closed at 9pm).

Certainly recommend the late visit as most people get there for opening.
