What about the Megabus. My daughter booked this at only £30 return. It goes from Cardiff making a few stops along the way, Heathrow etc and gets into Gatwick north ( looks like a five hr journey ) all very reasonable and worth a thought.
You can reserve your seats with a table

I guess it depends where is South Wales you are. We are Neath so would want to do the as it’s a hassle to get from here to Cardiff. We have done a minibus 3 times, priced around £600 return (we were 9 so needed a 12 seater) but it worked out cheaper than the train...bearing in mind you can’t book a specific train for the return in case of delays.
This year there on only 3 of us so we are driving.

Im from Merthyr, usually when I go with friends we have the National Express from Cardiff. You can get 4 people for around 24 pound so the price is decent. Coming home though, its a killer. Now I try and come home by train, just as the change at Reading breaks everything up. The bus home drags so badly, as you've already had a long day travelling, a 4 and a half hour bus after that is a nightmare

We went from Llanelli to Gatwick and Heathrow home in August. 8 of us and we payed £400 return. Much easier than driving and a lot less stress.

We use National Express year before last we went on the 2am one but last year we went up the evening before and stayed at the Premier Inn opposite North Terminal. It cost us £196.00 for 4 of us - return travel, 2 rooms premier inn with breakfast.
The bus was £41 for the 4 of us return.

We are travelling National Express down to Gatwick - have paid £60 for the 5 of us including seat selection.
We are then getting a minibus home for £225 as we didn't have a very good experience travelling home with the national express from Gatwick back to South Wales last time.

That sounds like a good idea. Do you mind me asking which company you’re getting the minibus with.
Thanks

Hi I work for a taxi company that specialises in airport transfers, where in South Wales are you travelling from and I’ll see if I can get you a quote?
