Aer Lingus Meals
Hi. We’re flying Aer Lingus for the first time this year.
Our flight is (currently) scheduled for 3pm. When will get our meal? Will it be straight away as a rather late lunch or a little way into it as dinner? Is the food OK? I’ve heard you can upgrade the meal although can’t find details of that it my booking. Is it worth it? Is it expensive? Thanks. Rx

Never flew with Aer Lingus, but here is where you can prebook an upgraded meal if you're interested.

Always about an hour into the flight no matter what time the flight is. Same as nearly all the airlines. We flew to NYC at 10am in December and were served the hot meal just after 11am.
The food is the same as all the airlines really. I don't see much difference between any of them to be honest. Think the options we had were chicken curry with rice or beef stew with potato. Also of the tray a salad, bread and a chocolate mousse. About an hour before landing we got a snack. A wrap and a brownie. I wouldn't pay 25 to get the upgraded meals. You can see the options on the Aer Lingus website. If you don't fancy the free food buy some food in the airport and save your money for spends. |

We flew a similar time in August with them and I think the food was served about 4.30. They bring the kids meals round first if you’ve ordered one.

As others said food service is about an hour into the flight.
I highly recommend the meal upgrade, I had the Salmon and it was delicious.

I can't find where you can select kids meals, anyone know.
I meant to upgrade meals on way out, in my rush booked them for our return. Reason to upgrade was just a little something to help pass boredom., will take longer to eat. |

I think you have to ring to book children meals.
