Rain In S.Wales - Wow

Sorry but I selfishly wish it had held off a bit longer ! On our first visit and though we are still doing stuff it is spoiling it . Plus the journey took 9 hours instead of the four and a half it should have has made my family say never again !

I live about 5 miles from Newport and it's been raining here too. We're expecting the really heavy rain between 3am tonight and 2 pm tomorrow, they have an amber weather alert in place, I think it's the same for Cardiff.

Woke me up in the night - although we have had rain this week, today was very heavy! Hello from Neath!

I slept with my window open and woke up to the storm coming inside the window!
Live further up from Caerphilly next to fields and our garden is a swamp
Just had to cover our duck hut with acrylic sheets as they're outside, the hailstone and wind alongside the rain I couldn't see as it was heavy. I had ankle wellies on and it was up to my heels straight away from just the rain coming down. They're tucked away and I'm back in with a cuppa.
Popped to Tesco this morning before it got bad and so many flooded roads due to drains.

I've never been so excited for rain. Think since April this is only the second decent afternoon of rain we've had.

Got rather dark here about 7 last night, lightening at times was vicious and did it rain. Hard enough to fill my water butt up.

Ground still very wet this afternoon.

Trouble is the heat has been replaced with a cloudy sky and it is very windy!

We were camping in the tower at three cliffs bay, I came home a night early with the dog but hubby and the kids got washed out of the tent 😬

We are only here till Monday unfortunately- wish I had booked longer . Despite the weather we explored bluestone this morning,then visited Tenby and went on the beach, the beach was so lovely even in bad weather . Tomorrow we have booked at the reptile experience in Saundersfoot and was hoping for some more beach visits but not sure that will happen . Hopefully Monday will be nicer .
