No not for us, too much craziness going on in the US at the minute. I love the UK and really feel lucky to live here. I remember watching the news in Florida first time visiting and thinking there’s loads of shootings here. Holiday yes, live, no.

I've lived in Orlando for 14 years and after a while, the day to day living isn't that much different to being in London. The biggest plus has been living in a bigger house than space/finances would allow in London.
The downside..the 'feels like 105 degree' temp days. Nice for a holiday, not so nice for 4-5 months.

But at least everywhere is airconditioned! Commuting into London on an unairconditioned Tube to an airconditioned office wasn't much fun.

For me the biggest positive of living here is that it doesn't start getting dark before 4 in the winter. I used to really struggle with that.

With enough funds I would much rather California
Somewhere between Yosemite and San Fran
Choosing carefully due to fires and fault zones
I love the idea of hot summers but proper autumn trees and snowy mountains

That was the reason for us buying our home, so that when we retire we can spend the winters out there.
Obviously the pound is worth a lot less now which is a shame.
People mention crime but in all the years going never seen or heard anything, at the moment we live in North London and you cannot go for a walk without smelling drugs ( never had this in Florida ) , we never see police until after a crime is committed and I can honestly say feel safer over there than here.

We thought about getting a place in Orlando a couple of years ago but were put off by the cost of health insurance.

I like the idea of spending more time there to see what it feels like.

My ideal location to move to would be San Diego.

The company I work for there head office is in Holland Michigan and years ago they wanted some of us to move there so they could set up another Spine Grinding company and we trained them up. Thankful cause of the $ rate they changed there mind as they get more money making them in the uk. There weather is worst then ours with Lots of rain and cold temperatures couple of years ago it was minus 25 🥶 with real high amounts of snow.

My wedding planner friend moved from Michigan to Florida and started a new business . She misses family but definitely not the winters (Michigan is really nice in the summer though)
