My littlest at 23 months was tall enough for Alien Swirling Saucers and she isn't particularly tall.
We use up our fastpasses easily in HS between all of the shows because it saves a chunk of queuing. I was gutted that my little one slept through the dance party last time because my 4 year old loved it!

Oh that's great to know, our LB is actually quite tall so most likely will be fine to ride this... I hadn't even thought out this one! Will add it to the list of rides to FP!

Thank you!

Hi,

Sorry to jump in on your thread. Can anyone tell me if there is a maximum number of adults on the rider swap? we are a party of 6 adults a 9 year old and a 2 year old. Am i right in thinking if i get fast passes for 4 adults the remaining 2 adults and child can ride using the swap?

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. I have spent the past 30mins laughing and crying reading about your trip, the part where your son met Mickey had me in floods.

We are heading on our trip in October and my son will be almost 3, he sounds very similar to your son, in that he has speech delay, developmental delay and sensory processing issues. I posted a thread on here not long ago asking about DAS for his extra needs and was made to feel I shouldn't consider asking. But reading your report has made me realize I shouldn't care what anyone else thinks and will definitely consider it depending on how he reacts while we are there.

Thank you again for writing such a great report and for all your tips

No age just not of height requirement for the ride.
So if you have children who are tall enough to ride but don't like rides, are you not able to use rider switch/child swap? xx

The flight is something I am a little nervous about but reading this has assured me that (mostly) people are understanding and sympathetic!

And great tips about the car seats too. We will be taking our own (I am insistent that our LB has to be RF so taking our own seat is absolutely the only option I am happy with) so this was all very useful!

Thank you so much for all your help, it truly is so appreciated!

ETA - I am so envious of you meeting the Trackers! That would totally make my trip!
Ah you are totally welcome! I tried to find my earlier ones of when the kids were a bit younger but I can’t find them. 😕 You’ll be fine on the flight, my daughter has always been totally fine, my son is just a little more challenging and doesn’t quite understand.

Omg I was literally like 😱 with the Trackers! Haha. Fan girl.

Oh my gosh you are totally welcome! I didn’t see your thread otherwise I would’ve come and reassured you. You 100000% do what is best for your family and if your little one need it, get it. It’s there to use and make things a little easier for your son. I wouldn’t even hesitate or think twice it’s about his comfort and enjoyment and helping him through the day. Please feel free to ask me any questions and I’ll be more than happy to help!

No you are. The exact guidance says:

If a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, no problem! With Rider Switch, one adult can wait with the non-rider (or riders) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the waiting adult can board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again!

Rider Switch is available at select attractions at all 4 Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.

The only thing is you may need to debate this a bit as it’s generally used for younger kids but there is nothing to say you can’t use it for a child who just doesn’t want to ride but can’t be left alone. In fact we had this a few times as my daughter started freaking out on rides she’d previously loved (like 7DMT) so we used it occasionally for her as my son would ride with my hubby and then we’d swap.
