Mobile Hot tubs

We are thinking about getting a hot tub.
Any one recommend a brand to look out for? There seems quite a few. Not wanting an inflatable one. What are thoughts on 13 amp plug and play or 32amp with dedicated cabling from consumer unit. So many variables to think about.

I have put 32 amp dedicated supplies in for hot tubs before and it can be quite pricey subject to where the hot tub is going. I take it you also know that it requires an electrical installation certificate to be issued by a Part P registered electrician, and although some people cut corners with some electrical work by using unqualified or/and unregistered people I wouldn't risk it for anything let alone a hot tub.

I don't have any experience of someone using a 13amp plug for a hot tub, but clearly it will limit the size/power of the hot tub you choose.

Personally if you have not had a hot tub before I would recommend an inflatable one, to see if you use it enough to warrent spending thousands on a permanent one.
We have had the inflatable ones and did use alot, found it very relaxing, but then got a job working away, so got rid as could not justify running while away.

I don't know all the details but we had to have a separate RCD fitted for ours (plus a shed load of very thick cabling). From memory the electrical work cost us around Ł5-600 and the hot tub company supplied the requirements to us to pass on to the electrician.

We went for a Coast tub, I wanted a deeper one so we could submerge our shoulders - that of course meant a crane hire to get it into the garden, the shorter ones will fit through a side gate on their side.

From talking to friends, we found we very much leant towards the Canadian makes for the insulation. The choices are really quite overwhelming and confusing, good luck!

We have a Hotsprings tub and has been brilliant. We get it serviced every 2 years which keeps it in tip top condition. it sits outside and is plugged in with a caravan style plug.

As per a previous post. Try and inflatable one first to see if you use it.

I’d recommend Costco for a solid tub, they only sell good quality goods and their customer service is outstanding.

I’d mirror llamala. My neighbour but one bought the inflatable type. They were in it three times the first year and once so far this year. She is thinking of getting rid now and using the space for other things. Could be costly if you don’t use it much.

I wouldn’t have an electric one, the wood fired ones are brilliant. We used one on a holiday, stainless steel so I imagine they are more hardwearing than plastic, you can get wooden ones too.

We have an inflatable one and it's already away. Third or fourth year we've had it, it's been on since April and we've used it three times this year.
