We made the decision to cancel this morning when we heard that MNSSHP was cancelled. Not entirely unexpected, but still very upsetting I called Disney at 09:00 sharp (as I'd already replied to the June 12th email to confirm our booking...) and I've been on hold for 2 hours and 15 minutes so far. The hold music playlist is around 50 minutes long so I'm on my third go round...I don't mind the Winnie the Pooh medley or the Indiana Jones score but I'm understandably fed up of It's a Small World!

The same for me this morning. Finally got to speak to someone after 2 1/2 hours. All cancelled & credit within 14 working days.

Sad times, but no choice really. Not comfortable with whats happening in Florida.

Bring on 2022

I'm still really torn about what to do with our booking 😭 booked into CSR 5th-19th Sept, my thinking is that the discount is enough to cover us loosing the QSDP (ie use that money for food) but maybe accept the changes for now and then move to a value resort or shorten our time at Disney and book a few days at Universal or cancel Disney and do other Orlando attractions? So many choices and its so hard to decide what to do, Sept is still a fair way out!

I cancelled our holiday for 13th Sept last week - Kenwood Travel refunding full £500 deposit - will look to book again when things are back to normal.

Very spooky! We were due to do exactly the same as you...and we've opted to do one of the options you've mentioned.

We were going in September, but now going next April. We've shortened our stay at CBR instead and going to Universal for four days, then back to CBR for the remaining 10 days.

September did look so far away when we moved our original booking from May to September, but not enough has changed that makes that decision seem like the wrong one. I'm quite happy that we've moved it to next May now.

We were in the same boat as you, we ended up accepting the offer and waiting for the parks to open and see how they function and work, plus we don’t know what’ll happen with our flights due to BA not yet extending the voucher! Also with Disney now announcing that our resort (POR) isn’t set to open anytime soon there is a possibility of us being upgraded which means we could potentially be going with our 35% and getting upgraded for free to a deluxe, so it kinda of makes the discount more worth it in a weird way!

So we decided to do the same! Found out that CSR isn't planned to be open for our stay either, so possibility of being moved to CBR or upgraded is also a good incentive! Are you going to contact Disney or wait for them to contact you about accommodation?

We were meant to be going from LGW-TPA 19/9-03/10, COVID then hit meaning we made the decision to move to next Sept however yesterday following the reservation system announcement last week, we finally made the choice to completely cancel and save the money for a house upgrade in the near future.

It's sad, but we'd rather wait until a better normality returns after a couple more years, plus there will be so many new changes around the parks to enjoy... all of the Epcot changes, Tron etc etc etc.

Gav.

Good decision Gav. I can’t imagine how bad the experience is going to be at Disney this year. No fireworks, no parades, pre-book entry to the park, no park hopping, no dining plan, no fast pass but still the same cost!

Pulled the plug on our September California trip yesterday. Re arranging for May. No Disneyworld plans until 2022.
