Just adding you don't get your express pass before you check in, but you can do this first thing before your room is ready, and store luggage with bell services, go to parks, and come back for your luggage and room later.

Wholeheartedly We went with that because it was cheapest but having looked at the others since, I'd always pick RPR.

Depends when you go...weve never needed them and got on every attraction we have wanted to... only time we have bothered with them have been on the Universal Horror nights

We go 21st June for 2 weeks, and are still undecided about booking hotel, buying Fastpasses for one day or just getting there early to do as much as we can before it gets busy.

If I can get a good deal on one night at a premium hotel then I’ll go for it, if not the plan is to head to Universal early on the first day and see what crowds are like.

Hope OP doesn’t mind me jumping in with a question... just wondering what you suggest we do with our valuables?... do they take your passport off you when you check in or will we have to carry them and cash around the park with us? We are doing first 2 nights of our holiday at endless summer, then transferring across to RPR early morning to check in and get express passes etc. It suddenly occurred to me that we’ll have all our holiday cash etc with us as it’s the beginning of our holiday. It’s making me think about trying to be as cashless as possible!

Hi, we have never stayed at the start and always had other accommodation which we left our valuables in. However there was another recent thread, which im screenshotting in which covered this.

For those who shop at Tesco and get clubcard points, you can book a one night stay through Hotels.com using your clubcard vouchers and get it for a third of the price. When I go I could get the Cabana Bay Beach resort for £70 (vouchers) for 1 night for 2 people including 2 day fast passes for us both. In the end I chose not to as we go next week, have accommodation elsewhere and the queue times are minimal at the moment.

Cabana Bay wouldn’t have got you the express passes. It’s only Hard rock, Portofino and Royal Pacific.
