Could it be that you were getting the Express Assistance pass because it says you do have to get that daily - or was it just the normal assistance pass you were having to get daily?

Found this online. We just got the AAP passes maybe the GAP you have to get everyday?
How Does Universal's Attractions Assistance Pass Work Universal's Attraction Assistance Pass (AAP) works very similarly to Disney's DAS Card. It is intended for guests with a cognitive or physical disability that prevents them from being able to wait in a conventional queue. Universal's Attraction Assistance Pass allows the disabled person and their party to wait in an alternate queue (such as the Universal Express queue) when times allow it. Alternatively, you should also be aware of the Guest Assistance Pass. This pass is only given out on a very strict basis and to a very limited amount of disabled guests. The GAP requires these guests (or their guardian) to meet with Guest Relations' supervisors and discuss the extreme difficulty that has occurred with trying to use the AAP on busy days.

Yes that's what I saw too but a different website - the GAP is the one you need to get everyday but the other you don't.
Anyway I've emailed them so will wait to here back. I hope we haven't made a big mistake choosing Universal over Disney |

We found Universal to be better with the Disability passes as they give a window of 30 mins. So if its 30 mins wait or less they let us straight on. Disney on the other hand would make you come back if it was 5mins. My boys loved the rides more there as well they were not really impressed with Disney. We are doing a Disney free holiday next year.

Updated Disability Passes
Universal have just called me to say that they no longer have the two pass system, i.e. the AAP and GAP - they now just have one pass, its issued for the entirety of the valid dates of your tickets and you only apply for it once.
