Excited about Disney

Definitely no need to stay overnight unless a beach visit is going to be included. I have always driven, 75-90 minutes from Kissimmee area so, depends where you stay. Not sure whether it is the same all year but Busch Gardens is generally open 10.00 to 6.00 so, plenty of time to have breakfast and drive down the I4 at a leisurely pace - don't forget the speed limits are mostly lower than ours. You must visit BG if it is your first Florida holiday - something for everyone there. Have a great trip.

Thank you so much everyone! I'm so excited I can't wait! Is it cheap to hire a car?

Busch gardens was one of our favourite parks we drove there had a full day then carried on to AMI for a couple of days. It was our first time and it won't be our last.

If we do Busch gardens we then we always drive to Clearwater beach - about 40 mins max and stay over for one night. Get there in good time for a swim, and a meal watching the gorgeous sunset. Next morning ready for a lovely day on a lovely beach ! So do look at the weather to time your Busch garden trip to a day when there will be good beach weather as well. Go for it - you will love it

We love Busch gardens and the Mears transport was great.
Nice to have one less thing to worry about and just sit! Yes, we did get there slightly (only just) after opening but walked straight in and no queues and had to be back on the bus for 5.15. We don't tend to go at peak times of the year so found this ample time! Hope You have fun x |

Busch is our favourite park and we would never miss it, we have been every time we've been to Florida, you don't need to stay over night, we always drive, it's a very easy drive. Car hire is not cheap, how are you getting around? are you staying onsite and using the bus service? if so you might be better using the free Mears shuttle bus.

Getting Excited
|
Hope you have an amazing first trip! Depending on where you're staying it is about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours away so no need for an over night stay depending on if you feel up for driving back to accommodation or catching transport. We have always gone back to accommodation after though as it usually shuts around the 8pm mark so not a very late night to be fair!
If you're going to be in the Tampa area, the only beaches we have been to near there are Palm Beach, St Pete's Beach and Clearwater, but they are all around an hour away West from the theme park. Our favourite was Clearwater as they have a playground for the kids and a few shops along the streets such as Ron John's Surf Shop and Dunkin' Donuts! |
