Animal kingdom lodge pool refurb

Hi all ,just had e mail from Disney regarding our upcoming stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge informing us that the main pool will be having maintenance work and we will be able to use the pool at Kidani village instead whilst main pool closed.
Just wondering what my options are as my kids love the big pool .Dont fancy wasting time having to go to Kidanis small pool .
Time to ring Disney I think

I've had the same! I don't know what to do, we never would have booked AKL if we knew building work was taking place - it's our wedding trip and originally we were going to book Caribbean Beach to save some cash but when we saw the extent of the work being carried out there we splurged for AKL so I'm not too happy!

I came straight here to see if anyone had any advice?!

I'm thinking about cancelling my whole holiday :-( I don't mind about the pool being closed, but refurbishment work could be quite loud - the fitness center, restaurants, one of the savannahs etc. are all near the pool. And there aren't really any good alternative resorts to move to as most are sold out! Maybe I'm wrong about how disruptive it will be?

Had the same email. Really not happy as Disney were very unhelpul. We are paying additional for pool view. They did not see why I was unhappy- asked if they would upgrade to Savannah or club level they said no.

I have ended up switching to Beach Club and paid the additional (again disney would not offer any discount)

Very poor handling of the situation

Can I ask how much you paid and for how many nights?

An additional £250 for 14 nights. I know it's not a lot but the fact I have to pay more for something out of my control is frustrating

You can obtain a refund on what you have paid to move to BC now and switch to either BWI, SSR, OKW or Kidani depending on what is available for your dates free of charge if you would prefer. Disney have changed their stance.
