AKL Which room?

Booked a standard room at AKL for next Summer. Has anyone got any recommendations for area/room numbers we should request?

We were in room 4228 last year. It's a standard room class but with Savannah view (although you are above a people pen). We thought it was great, not too far from the lobby, though a bit of a walk to the pool/mara etc.
We saw loads of animals as there's a watering hole right next to the people pen, where they seemed to congregate in the morning and evening.

Get near to the lobby, we had a Savannah view, amazing and breathtaking for a couple of days then it was the norm (spoilt I know

), filling mugs etc was a pain in the backside.

I have twice had a standard room that faced out on the parking lot. While the view wasn't the best it was a nice quick walk to and from the car, something I loved after a long day at the park.

Both visits booked standard view and very lucky to get partial savannah view on check in - both rooms on Zebra trail, same floor as lounge overlooking Boma
