Hotels in/near Fort Lauderdale

We booked our flights for next August last night with BA but flying to Fort Lauderdale. We've decided it would be best to spend the night in Fort Lauderdale or just outside before travelling up early the next morning. Can anyone recommend a reasonable hotel for the night, ideally with a pool.

We flew in to Miami in August and drove up to Deerfield beach, it’s about 20 min from Ft Lauderdale, right on the beach with a nice little pool to be used. Was inexpensive.

I usually book the Courtyard by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port and it's only a 10 minute drive from the airport. It's usually well priced, well reviewed and has good facilities such as a pool

I’m using the BA Fort Lauderdale flight in January and because it is a relatively early afternoon arrival, have decided that we will travel up to West Palm Beach, less than 50 miles away via I95 - so about a 50 minute drive.

We are staying at Marriott’s SpringHill suites, where we have stayed before. It can be had for a good price and includes a (basic) buffet breakfast. It is also within 100 yards walk of a Cracker Barrel restaurant and is just off I95 - so not next door to Trump’s pad

I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a Florida hotel without a pool, but sure they exist!
