Characters at Disney Paris hotels
Hi all, we will be staying at Sequioa Lodge, but could potentially drop into Newport Bay Club, New York or Disneyland hotels on way into the parks. What time are the characters there from? Hoping to make most of EMH. Who have you seen there and what were the queues like? Think queuing in the warm for hopefully less time is appealing. Where abouts in the hotels can we find the characters? Thank you

The queues at the hotels can be horrific - we saw Mickey, Minnie and Pluto but the queue was easily 30 people long so we skipped these and met the characters during EMT instead which was much less busy!

Thanks HappyPanda, that’s good to know I didn’t realise characters were about during EMT.

The characters also don't appear in the hotels until after EMT has started, so your best bet is head to the parks. You can meet a few characters then head straight onto the rides!

If there are more than about 5 families in front of me, I don’t bother. Even with a very short queue you can easily be there an hour. Unlike the ‘hug, pose, sign, next!’ mentality in the US, the characters at DLP spend quality time with each person individually. Which is lovely - but makes for really slow queues!

If you have an early breakfast I've found the queues for characters at the hotels to be really short, usually only a few people ahead of us, especially in the Sequoia Lodge, we normally have breakfast around 7.30am and then wander past the character area on our way back to our room. On our last trip we saw Goofy, Pluto and Mickey on different days

We had 4 nights in Newport Bay last month and while we were there we had Pluto twice, Mickey and Donald. We never queued for them because the queues in the hotel were almost as long as the park queues. If they had been in special costumes themed to the hotel that might have convinced me! But they were always in their normal outfits.

We do the early breakfast too - 7.45am - and one of us will just go and queue at about 8.15 and we tend to see the characters fairly quickly once they turn up at 8.30.

We've only done it a couple of times but found the queues manageable if you go right before they start. Also they have a photopass photographer present. Both times, we only waited around 15 minutes. The only time we saw a huge queue in the hotel was when it was raining during EMH.

Thanks everyone. My 4 year old was nervous of the characters when up close so we were generally happy watching others meet them. Would have loved to have seen the princesses up close but alas 90mins+ is bit of a wait for 1 princess when they might get upset when the moment arrives, least there’s the parade ☺️
