Free hot drinks onsite guests

I've heard that onsite hotel guests get a credit on their key card to use in the hotel's hot drinks machines - except guests staying at Cheyenne.
Does anyone know if you can use the card from Cheyenne to get free drinks from a machine in a different hotel, especially Santa Fe or is it the Cheyenne card itself that isn't equipped to give free drinks?

apparently the drink machines in Cheyenne aren't configured to take cards, only cash!

I don't know if the cards just wouldn't be loaded for it as it's not available in Cheyenne. But Santa Fe is just literally over a bridge, so it could be worth a try. I know there's a machine in block 33, as that was the one I was told to use when I stayed there last month. Xx

The coffee machine in Santa Fe block 46 never worked properly while we were there in October. Everyone we saw was tipping their drinks away. Glad I had taken my travel kettle and plenty of teabags, 2 in 1 coffee sachets and individual little pots of milk from home bargains. Must have saved us a fortune.

I borrowed a kettle from reception and took sachets of hot drinks. We didn't use as many as expected, cos the machine in 33 was working, and even though I was told children's cards didn't get the free drinks, my niece's did. So that was 2 each a day. We mainly got them in the evening as we pretty much spent all of the day times at the parks. X

it's mainly for hubby to have coffee first thing as I don't drink hot drinks (or alcohol, so taking plenty of Pepsi Max for me! ).
I remember last time he went to Starbucks and spent a small fortune as well as moaning everyday how surly and slow they were lol!
Just seems a bit unfair that Santa Fe has it, so not just that we're staying in a cheaper hotel.

To be honest I always take Kenco 2 in 1 sachets and get a kettle in reception.

We always just take our travel kettle and 2 light mugs, with cappuccino, hot choc sachets etc.

I was really disappointed that the Cheyenne didn't offer this free drink - I'd added it to my list of hints and tricks that I'd learned on these forums but when I went to the laundry to try it I couldn't figure out how to do it.. at least I know now that I wasn't just being dim!
