Mobile ADR - Where should we book for breakfast on our first day?

Hi,

We are staying at AOA for our first 3 nights then staying off site for the remainder of our holiday. We have 2 children aged 5 & 3. We’ve never booked or eaten in a Disney restaurant, we usually only eat lunch in the parks - buffet style.
Our first day will be on a Wednesday and our kids will probably wake very early. We havent decided which park to visit or whether to book at restaurant. The kids will mostly likely be hungry and i was thinking of trying to book a restaurant for breakfast - what is the earliest we can book a table for and which restaurant would you recommend?
Also is there any way we can pay to receive the dining plan or is this only if you stay on site for more than 5 days?
Many thanks.

How about where you're staying? It's what I always do.

I had thought we might be better eating in a park. I’ve just looked at AOA - Landscape of Flavors and it says it’s open from 6am but it looks like breakfast isn’t served until 7am. Could that be right? Is the restaurant located at AOA or World of sports?

I had thought if we were already in one of the parks for breakfast then we could do a few rides before heading back to the hotel.

You can’t pay for dining plan unless you buy tickets too and even then I think you have to be staying a minimum of 5 nights.
The earliest park breakfast is 8am so if you’re up extra early then that’ll feel a bit late. The resort probably offers pastries and muffins from 6am with hot breakfasts starting at 7am. Some of the hotel table service restaurants serve breakfast from 7/7.30am so maybe Chef Mickeys would be an option?

Actually I’ve just done a dummy booking and you can pay for DDP but you do need to add park tickets.
Sorry, I was right the first time. I went back to check and the calendar defaults to a minimum 5 night stay when you book hotel & tickets so you can only add DDP for stays of 5 nights or more.

If you decide to go to Animal Kingdom on your first day I can recommend Tuskar House. It's a character buffet and is really good. The food is yummy with a wide choice and the character meets are really fun. Other places that get good reviews on here are Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom and Garden Grill in Epcot. These are both on my wish list for next year!

I don't know how early they open, I'd imagine 8.00. Maybe have a few snacks in your room to tide the kids over until then? If they wake up crazy early you don't want them starving and grumpy before you can go out anywhere.

Our first morning choice is Crystal Palace at the magic Kingdom. Love being able to see the castle and lots of tasty food! My boys (and girlfriends) still love it after 20 years of going! First went when they were 3 and 1!

Always Magic Kingdom and always either Crystal Palace (with Winnie the Pooh) or Be our Guest.
