My parents took my brother and I into Central London (a rare treat in itself) to see The Sound of Music but when we got there it was sold out, so we ended up seeing South Pacific instead. We did eventually get to see The Sound of Music a couple of months later.

im not entirely sure how old i was but guess about 5 or 6 our dad took us *

my sister was terrified of the witch & we had to leave early .. i can remember kicking off why i had to go as well

* used to take us to saturday morning cartoons as well, unusual at the time as this was the early 70's and mams usually did that sort of thing with kids ? although he used to work in the cinema industry and knew lots of workers in the cinemas, so maybe we got in free or through the fire door?

You only live twice at the RAF Wyton Cinema.

Loved the cunningly concealed icbm site inside a volcano with a false metal lake as a roof. Nobody would ever rumble that!
