Without disrespecting anyone's choices, there are a fair few wines being mentioned here which are very high volume wines produced so supermarkets can routinely put them on offer and pretend there is a deal going on. There isn't.
Like someone never pays full price for a DFS sofa, I can't imagine many people have paid full price for a bottle of Blossom Hill, First Cape or Ernest & Julio Gallo! If you like one of these wines, that's great. If it flows down your throat and brings a smile to your face then it’s a winner, but don't be fooled that you are getting a deal when these wines are presented as being on offer. |

It really depends on what you want to pay. If you're looking at £6 - £7 a bottle just pick pretty labels these are all mass produced wines with no serious quality - I'm not saying don't drink them, I do it all the time, just that they are very basic and much of a muchness.
If you're looking for a quality wine £12+ a bottle then don't buy from a supermarket go to a specialist supplier who will have some decent ones on a nice offer Remember the tax on a bottle of wine is a set amount not a percentage of the cost so you will pay the government the same amount on a bottle that costs £4.99 as you will on one that costs £499 |

Have a look at Laithwaites wines.
They are doing a great offer on a mixed case at the moment. Weve had a couple of the mixed red cases and they've all been fabulous- far nicer than any supermarket wine we've ever had. Xxx |

McGuigan Australian wines are really good - I know you get them in morrisons under a similar deal, but not sure if Sainsburys stock them

Be careful with the cold in a cold glass ...
Serving whites too cold The temptation is to pop white wine in the fridge earlier in the day, so you don’t forget to chill it, but the result may be that it’s way too cold by the time you come to drink it. This doesn’t matter so much with crisp, inexpensive whites such as picpoul, but it will strip out much of the flavour from a good chardonnay. |
