Perhaps I have the testing thing wrong, it’s what I’ve heard on the grapevine so could be rumour. Maybe the family asked for a test? Not sure.
My parents help with childcare, always have done and have taken the decision to continue (it’s their lives and like someone above said my dad says life is for living) they don’t want to stop seeing the kids. But yes it’s also about Xmas dinner as it’s an important day for being with family and always has been to me. We aren’t doing the usual big family dinner. You’ll find a lot will do this, I know many people already and my old manager has said they are isolating prior to seeing family at Xmas. I guess each to their own but for me it’s about reducing risk and school is our risk as we don’t go out. And yes it’s for Xmas day as it’s important to me and my kids. Worked it out that it would be 5 days early

And it's your choice to do that.
Just because other do it doesn't mean it's right and just because others disagree with you doesn't mean you're wrong. You do what's right for you. I was only pointing out the risk is there now and it's acceptable to you dad. I won't be taking my kids out from school. Education is very important, even that last week when they are doing more social things they are learning particularly when young. Enjoy your Christmas and stay safe x |

I don’t understand why you need to take your kids out of school to isolate if you’re already seeing your parents regularly anyway? Am I missing something?

Where on earth did you get all that incorrect info. I don’t go shopping I work from home and hubby working in an empty house! So please don’t shout shopping at me when you are so far off the mark! Wow!

My worry is if the class has to isolate on the lead up meaning we can’t have Xmas day together. It’s maybe not a big thing to some but to me it is

I don’t think people are considering this so they can isolate for 2 weeks, I think it’s to remove the risk that their school bubble goes into isolation at some point in the two weeks before Christmas. That would mean that the child has to isolate for 2 weeks and would miss Christmas Day with any other household.

I get what you are saying, I understand the risk now (and still
Worry but my parents want to continue) however having Xmas day together is really important to me. Like you say I guess it’s all personal choice and opinions. I am doing the best I can in the situation I’m in. Stay safe and have a great Xmas too x

Right I’m with you. So you don’t care about the educational aspect or the risk to your parents, you just want a family Christmas. Noted, I guess I will bow out here as I doubt anything I have to say will be of any interest.
