Perhaps I have the testing thing wrong, itís what Iíve heard on the grapevine so could be rumour. Maybe the family asked for a test? Not sure.

My parents help with childcare, always have done and have taken the decision to continue (itís their lives and like someone above said my dad says life is for living) they donít want to stop seeing the kids.

But yes itís also about Xmas dinner as itís an important day for being with family and always has been to me. We arenít doing the usual big family dinner.

Youíll find a lot will do this, I know many people already and my old manager has said they are isolating prior to seeing family at Xmas.

I guess each to their own but for me itís about reducing risk and school is our risk as we donít go out. And yes itís for Xmas day as itís important to me and my kids. Worked it out that it would be 5 days early

And it's your choice to do that.

Just because other do it doesn't mean it's right and just because others disagree with you doesn't mean you're wrong.

You do what's right for you. I was only pointing out the risk is there now and it's acceptable to you dad.

I won't be taking my kids out from school. Education is very important, even that last week when they are doing more social things they are learning particularly when young.

Enjoy your Christmas and stay safe x

I donít understand why you need to take your kids out of school to isolate if youíre already seeing your parents regularly anyway? Am I missing something?

My worry is if the class has to isolate on the lead up meaning we canít have Xmas day together. Itís maybe not a big thing to some but to me it is

I donít think people are considering this so they can isolate for 2 weeks, I think itís to remove the risk that their school bubble goes into isolation at some point in the two weeks before Christmas. That would mean that the child has to isolate for 2 weeks and would miss Christmas Day with any other household.

I get what you are saying, I understand the risk now (and still
Worry but my parents want to continue) however having Xmas day together is really important to me.

Like you say I guess itís all personal choice and opinions. I am doing the best I can in the situation Iím in.

Stay safe and have a great Xmas too x

Spot on! My kids would be devastated if that happened too

Right Iím with you. So you donít care about the educational aspect or the risk to your parents, you just want a family Christmas. Noted, I guess I will bow out here as I doubt anything I have to say will be of any interest.
