When will September school term start 2019?

Hampshire supposedly 1st but I suspect that they will put at least one or two inset days on that.

Our school is due to go back on Friday 6 September 2019 but the LA are suggesting it's an inset day - I hope so because we've booked and don't arrive back the 7th September! That's Derbyshire.

Friends of ours live near Leicester and they are going back 29th Aug, first time for next year as School having 2 weeks off over October rather than the usual 1 week,

My DD is back on the 3rd.

Schools in Birmingham term dates start on the 3 September for 2019 but there is always teacher training days so don't start normally 2 days later as this was the case for 2018. Also there is staggered starts to the start of the year for new pupils for both primary and secondary schools. My DS didn't start the first day back to secondary school till the Thursday.

Our DS's school haven't even given us the firm dates for 2018 yet!

They always do "start of term is on the Monday, then two inset days, then a day for just Year 7s". So I was expecting him to go back on Thursday 6th.

They hadn't released anything at all when I booked the holiday - we return on Monday 3rd. All they've released so far is "Monday 3rd, with inset days to be confirmed".

Ah well, if there's no insets or yr-7 only days then he's going to miss a day!

I’m hoping that my DS’s school will do the first day back for year 7’s only which is what they did in September just gone.

We’re in MK too

We’ve booked to go end of August 19 also and I’ve used this years dates as proxies so would expect Monday 2 & 3 Sep to be INSET days. I am therefore anticipating that they will be going back on the 4th.

My eldest is due to be starting secondary, we’re not returning home until the 6th so she will most definitely miss 2-3 days of school

I tried to use this year to work it out as well, and i’m hoping for the same 2nd & 3rd as inset days and he will have to miss the 4th as we don’t land back until the morning of the 4th.
