We used a Halifax clarity card on both our trips and would definitely recommend. We were really pleased with the exchange rate we were charged on the day. We also used it to pay for estas and used it online for a purchase from Australia, all with no fees

I have the Clarity card. I think I remember when I applied, reading that although there is no free to withdraw cash abroad, you get charged interest on it from day one so ideally if you can, pay off the withdrawal on your banking app the same day you make it.

Hi Qwerty,

Interbank rate, zero fees, on purchases/ATM withdrawals. With ATM withdrawals H'fax charge interest from day one, either clear via bank transfer or when balance is due. Additional funds paid to H'fax clear cash withdrawals first.

WaWa petrol stations have surcharge free ATMs, ensure you select withdraw in $'s.

We have a H'fax Clarity account apiece, if one card were to be disabled we have the other. Used ours for 5 years with no issues whatsoever.

I think you're right. There's no interest charged on transactions if you pay the statement off in full when you get it but I think cash withdrawals are different and you get charged interest from the day you withdraw

Always cash, no matter where you are in the world.
Then the server is more likely to get them.
